Austin will be welcoming Telsa Inc., an electric car maker, to the landscape of companies located in the Central Texas area.
The new Tesla plant to be located on 2,100-acres in the Travis County area will employ at least 5,000 workers. The Tesla plant is estimated to be over 4 million square feet and will be the factory to build the up-and-coming Tesla Cybertruck pickup, and the second manufacturing site for the Model Y small SUV.
The Austin Tesla plant will be build quickly to meet deadlines for the coming production dates of the Cybertruck.
Tesla has committed to invest $1.1 billion and will pay a minimum way of $15.00 per hour to employees, while also providing paid leave, health insurance and more.
