The Texas Stars professional ice hockey team established in Cedar Park in 2009 represents the Austin Area in the American Hockey League (AHL). The Stars captured the 2014 Calder Cup Championship have appeared in the AHL’s Calder Cup Final three times and made the playoffs in seven of 10 seasons.
The Stars play their home games at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park. The team is directly affiliated with the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League (NHL). Players consistently earn promotions to play for Dallas after beginning their career with the Texas Stars. Some notable alumni of the Texas Stars include current NHL players like Jamie Benn Roope Hintz Esa Lindell Jason Dickinson Colton Sceviour and Jack Campbell.
The organization is active in the Central Texas community and gives back to local non-profits. The Texas Stars Foundation has raised more than $1.2 million for local non-profits since its creation. The Foundation’s mission is to support local youth education and military families.
