The annual CMA (Country Music Association) Music Festival started back in 1972. Over the years this festival has helped contribute over $13.6 million in funding for music education throughout the U.S. The artists who perform at the festival do so for free. In return the CMA donates half of the festival’s net proceeds to the CMA Foundation.
This year East Austin students will be one of the groups benefiting from this generous organization. A Notes for Notes® recording studio will be created so that area students easily have the access and opportunity to pursue their musical interests.
Award winning recording artists Kacey Musgraves and Shane McAnally were in Austin over the weekend to hold a songwriting Q&A with area children at the future home of the planned recording studio.
