Spring break is almost here, and Austin, Texas, is the perfect place to make memories with your family. From outdoor adventures to cultural experiences, the city has something for everyone. To help you plan your trip, I’ve put together a list of the best spring break options in and around Austin, keeping in mind both fun and educational activities for the whole family.

 

Outdoor Adventures

Zilker Park: This iconic park offers a variety of activities, including swimming in Barton Springs Pool (a natural spring-fed pool!), exploring the Zilker Botanical Garden, riding the Zilker Zephyr miniature train, and playing on the Zilker Metropolitan Park playground.

Lady Bird Lake: Rent kayaks, canoes, or paddleboards and explore the scenic Lady Bird Lake. You can also hike or bike along the trails that follow the shoreline.

Barton Creek Greenbelt: This popular greenbelt offers hiking, biking, and swimming in cool, clear creeks. Be sure to check the water levels before you go, as they can vary depending on recent rainfall.

Wildflower Center: Immerse yourselves in the beauty of Texas wildflowers at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. The center offers walking trails, educational exhibits, and stunning wildflower displays.
