East Austin’s Whisper Valley isn’t just another master-planned neighborhood – it’s a forward-thinking, award-winning community built with the future in mind. Spanning 2,063 acres, Whisper Valley is setting the bar for how communities can blend sustainability, technology and wellness while remaining affordable for today’s homebuyers.

Developed by Taurus Investment Holdings, the community’s vision centers on clean energy, healthy living and smart design that is backed by cutting-edge infrastructure to provide zero energy capable homes.

The Power Behind the Vision: EcoSmart Solution

At the heart of Whisper Valley’s green philosophy is the EcoSmart Solution, a pioneering green energy service provider designed to dramatically reduce each home’s carbon footprint. EcoSmart’s community-wide GeoGrid™ taps into geothermal energy from the earth, enabling homeowners to cut energy use by up to 70%. Paired with solar PV panels and smart home appliances, these homes have the potential to reach zero energy status.

Installed much like any other utility, the GeoGrid connects directly to each home’s geothermal heat pump for ultra-efficient heating and cooling. Combine this with smart thermostats, energy-efficient appliances and the Sense energy monitoring system, and homeowners are empowered to take control of their usage. By applying good energy behavior, homeowners can reduce their monthly energy bills to close to or even actual zero.

Where Health and Nature Go Hand-in-Hand

Wellness is woven into every aspect of Whisper Valley. More than 700 acres of parks, trails, and open green space encourage homeowners to get outside and move. Plans are underway for the 600-acre Whisper Valley Park, which will serve as a major anchor in East Austin’s regional trail system, eventually linking to the 14-mile Travis County Trail along Gilleland Creek.

The community also features a resort-style pool and fitness center, activity rooms and a demo kitchen for events, a certified Wildlife Habitat®, scenic nature trails, a dog park, playgrounds, professionally managed organic gardens that deliver fresh produce, and a full-time Lifestyle Director coordinating everything from yoga and wine tastings to food trucks, kids’ crafts, fun runs and holiday gatherings.

What’s Next for Whisper Valley

Pre-leasing will begin this summer for new luxury apartments in Whisper Valley. The Evergreen at Whisper Valley will offer 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom apartments and eco-friendly designs in line with the community’s commitment to sustainability. Residents will enjoy their own set of premium amenities.

Whisper Valley will also soon welcome an Austin Habitat for Humanity neighborhood, with construction anticipated to begin this October. The Carter Work Project will focus on building 25 homes ranging from 1,300-1,400 square feet. With homes projected to start at $230,000, this initiative will provide affordable, energy-efficient homes for families in need, further strengthening the sense of community and sustainability that Whisper Valley is known for.

Families in Whisper Valley will soon have access to a brand-new educational facility. Del Valle ISD’s second high school is currently under construction and set to open in fall 2027, providing a state-of-the-art learning environment for students in the area. This addition will enhance our community’s already strong appeal to families looking for excellent educational opportunities close to home.

Additional development plans include single-family for rent neighborhoods, plus garden office, boutique retail, restaurants and services in the first retail village at the future FM 973 & Braker Lane. When completed, Whisper Valley will feature 7,500 single-family and multi-family homes, a transportation hub, police and fire stations, a library, three Del Valle schools and a variety of thriving commercial services.
