Nestled on 33 wooded acres in the beautiful hill country, the Austin Waldorf School is celebrating 40 years of educational excellence, Pre-K through 12th grade.
The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to meet each stage of a student’s development from early childhood, through adolescence, and into young adulthood. The programs demonstrate a commitment to providing an experiential, three dimensional, engaging educational experience. We strongly believe that students need to be active participants in their education. Education should not be a spectator sport.
In addition to a rich academic curriculum, the students are taught two foreign languages, vocal and instrumental music, handwork, woodwork, blacksmithing, fine arts, drama, and sports and games from around the world.
We partner with parents to help shape students who will have a global sense of responsibility, a commitment to celebrate diversity, and an authentic curiosity in people and the world around them. We want our students to move through the world with a sense of appreciation and gratitude for all that they have access to. Meaningful engagement with people is one of the many extraordinary elements of being an Austin Waldorf student.
The faculty is dedicated to excellence and artistry in teaching. The parent body is stalwart and generous, and the community life is vibrant.
The school is accredited through the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA), and the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest (ISAS).
